On the occasion of the European Heritage Days on September 16-17, the library has presented an exhibition entitled "Shanghai 1937, la zone Jacquinot, 1ère zone de réfugiés de l'histoire".
The zone was named after Jesuit Father Robert Jacquinot de Besange (1878-1946), a French missionary in China.
In 2017, a Chinese delegation from the Shanghai archives visited the library in search of documents, enabling us to discover this great figure in humanitarian history.
The exhibition featured panels, period documents from the library's holdings, wooden figurines and a film about Père Jacquinot. The exhibition attracted 250 visitors, and remains accessible in digital form.
